
Cola companies in India are at present locked in an intense debate whether the cola wars and heavy spending on cheeky ads for cola promotion might be responsible for attracting closure scrutiny of their products by consumers and the media. The on going introspection by the cola companies is the result of latest charge on pesticide content in cola alleged by Centre for Science and Environment.

Therefore, the prevailing situation indicates towards a tamed and subdued cola promotional advertisement environment in the near future. Further, the companies are discussing whether there is a pressing need to curb down their visibility level or not.
The industry however alleged that there are other MNC’s and big domestic companies that are not put under scanner despite having much higher levels of pesticides residue in their products.
