This is an old anti smoking advertisement campaign undertaken in Dubai to inform people that smoking is banned in all shopping malls. The campaign is showing packets of different cigarette brands and their names have been changed to suit anti-smoking effects by eliminating key words from the brand name. Of course the campaign was not very effective as it lacked hard-hitting portrayal of smoking effect. Moreover, the campaign seems to be aiming at announcement rather focusing on the anti-smoking effects in its core.
However, the campaign has interestingly altered the names of the brands such as Rotman, Be on edge and so on. Overall, the campaign lacks penetrating message and struggles in its presentation. The copy reads as, ‘smoking is banned in all shopping malls’. The campaign was created by GMASCO Marketing Communications, Dubai, UAE.
