Starting a business is much easier than staying in it and doing well. Mere starting a business is not a big deal, but to stay in it for years surely is. Every startup can only succeed if it has the required fuel to succeed fast in a short span of time.

Today’s business world is in no way a cake walk. The cut throat competition just does not let any business stay for long, provided if the business really has the worth to lead the race. Fast paced development is the mantra of abounding success of a business; smallest level of monotony can throw the business out of track soon.
Entrepreneurs who have faced failures in business know it well that what is the main reason behind their failure, stagnation. If you are not developing and you are stagnant, that means you are dead in a business. For a positive business development an entrepreneur needs to delve deep into all the problems and shortcomings of their business, and work wholeheartedly for the elimination of any obstacle standing in their path of development. Another very important aspect for development in a business is the employees. They need to have that motivation and vigor to bring the business at number one.

Do People Avoid your Closeness?

Business Tips by Dr Prem, Opinion and Views

Does your confidence shakes while whispering jokes to friends or cuddling to dear ones? Have you ever experience that people avoid your closeness just because of bad breath? Or do you avoid proximity of some one in your family or friend whose breath smells foul? Bad breath is a very common problem that can greatly influence the confidence of a person. However, many of us are unaware of it, as people became used to the smell of their own breath.

Bad breath can be controlled by following simple hygienic measures. In most cases bad breath is caused by the bacteria present in the mouth that breed on the food particles lodged in between teeth or at gum line. This can lead to dental cavities and gum diseases, responsible for chronic bad breath (Halitosis). In addition to that certain medical disorder such as sinusitis, diabetes, and kidney disease or lactose intolerance may cause stinking breath. Eating pungent smelling food including like garlic, onion or chewing tobacco make your breath smell foul. People using dental appliances can also have bad breath if the dentures are not clean on time to time.

Here are some tips that will help to evade bad breath and thus will allow you to enjoy the closeness of dear one.

– Good oral hygiene is the key to keep bad breath away. Do through brushing twice a day with regular flossing. Only flossing will help to remove the food particles and bacteria trapped between teeth and at the gum line.

– Don’t forget to clean tongue; the bacteria left on tongue can make breath foul. It is best to clean tongue every time, after brushing teeth.

– Rinse mouth with plain water, especially after meal. Swishing the water around will help to clear the remaining food particles from mouth. Using the mouth wash available in market can also serve the purpose.

– Keep mouth wet as saliva has a natural antibacterial action and it also helps to clear the food particles. Drinking lots of water will prevent dryness of mouth. You can chew on sugarless gum to increase the saliva flow.

– Certain fruits and vegetables such as apple, carrot, and cucumber are natural cleanser and eating them will help to remove plaque and food particles.

– Munching of natural herbs like parsley or spearmint will help to get rid of bad breath for a time being. Even eating sweet smelling food products can keep your breath fresh.

– The “breath remedies” available in market can be useful to avoid bad breath as they helps to kill the unwanted bacteria in the mouth.

– Stop chewing or using tobacco based product

– One who uses dentures needs to remove it at night and clean them properly before using again.

Now, you know how to get rid of bad breath. Start working on it immediately and chuck out the barrier to your social life. Only your persistent efforts will help to evade bad breath.

You may need to consult a dentist if above mention tips don’t help to prevent bad breath.

Khaleej Times – ‘Social media can’t be a substitute
for doctor’

Business Tips by Dr Prem, Dr Prem in News, Opinion and Views

Online social networking sites provide a good platform for individuals and patients to get medical advice easily. However, a health expert has cautioned not to follow them blindly.

Khaleej Times - 'Social media can’t be a substitute
for doctor' Khaleej Times

“People can learn a lot from the social media. We get to know the opinions of friends, colleagues and the patients who are suffering from the same medical condition like migraine, and learn their routine. Because doctors are so busy nowadays they might not be able to give you extensive information but you can get this now online,” Dr Prem Jagyasi, MD and CEO of ExHealth, Dubai, and founder of the Global Healthcare Network, told Khaleej Times.

“However, since the social media is not well-monitored, there is no authenticity and no control of the content. Anyone can basically write anything and that’s the danger,” he warned.

“So you need to make sure that you only follow established chapters and organisations. Go to websites that are government-owned. There are also very good private websites but look for the HoN logo (certified by the Health on the Net Foundation) which will authenticate that this information is from very good resources,” he suggested.

Although social networking sites such as At his presentation at the World Health Care Congress (WHCC) Middle East last week, Dr Jagyasi noted the growing trends and impact of social media in healthcare in areas of education, communication and marketing.

He said that among the “prosumers”, or consumers who proactively seek out health information, 80 per cent seek it for themselves and on average check out five sites to get the most accurate information.

They seek out information primarily to see what other consumers say about a certain medication or treatment, as well as, to research other consumer’s knowledge and experiences, added
Dr Jagyasi.

For the last 10 years, internet users in the Middle East increased by 1825.3 percent, more than four times than that of the rest of the world. As of June 2010, internet penetration in the Middle East stands at 29.8 per cent of the population while it is 28.7 per cent in the rest of the world.

Among the countries in the region, the UAE account for the second highest internet users at 75.9 per cent of the population, following Bahrain at 88
per cent.
