1. Be Your Best Version
Warren Buffet once observed, ‘There will never be a better you than you’. Brilliant insight on how to be the best.
There will never be a better you than you. Some might try and copy the way you think, speak and act but they will only be the second best. Among the billions of people out there, you are unique. It makes you realize how special you are.
And so today, what will you do with yourself as you march out in a world that needs people who are being extraordinary with their lives more than ever? Will you liberate more of your natural potential and creativity? Will you uncover more of your authenticity? And will you be more of the you that you were meant to be? There will never be a better time to be the best you than today. And if not now, then when? Be the best you can be today.
2. Overcome the invisible Fences
As we grow up, we adopt negative beliefs and false assumptions and sabotaging fears from the world around us. These become our invisible fences. We believe they are real and when we bump into them in life and work, we retreat. We believe the boundary is true. So we shrink from all that we are meant to be, to do, and to be.
Be aware of your invisible fences. Observe and challenge them. So that when you confront one, you see it for what it is, a lie that you tell yourself, and use your will and talent to run through it.
This is a mindset shift and it makes you realize that YOU are stopping yourself from being the best that you can be.
3. Be So Good They Can’t Ignore You
Life favors the devoted. The more you give to life, the more it sends back. As long as you become great at what you do, always stand for brilliance and reach your full potential, you will win in the end and enjoy the journey.
Sometimes discouragement sets in. It happens to everyone and we try hard, stay true to our dreams and pursue our ideals. And yet, nothing happens. This is where your patience comes in. Life runs by its own agenda and not yours. Success comes from gradual improvements over time and like a stonecutter, you slowly chip away until the diamond is revealed.
An enthusiastic, dedicated person who is incredibly good at what they do just can not be denied.
4. Listen Carefully
Every person you meet knows at least one thing that you don’t. Don’t let the leave without learning it.
We are shaped by our conversations. We are influenced by the arguments we hear and the people we meet. Listening is a master skill for personal and professional excellence. Good leaders and people who perform are good listeners.
If you are lucky enough to be talking to the right person, at the right time, that single conversation might be the one that changes the way you think, feel and behave forever. If you want to know how to be the best, start with listening to those around you more.
5. Do It Now
Life is flying by in every second. Why postpone what you can do today to some time off in the distance? Why delay having a remarkable time until you’re old?
This in no way suggests that you neglect the importance of planning for the future. Taking the long view and planning for a full life are important but at the same time, live in the moment. Its a balance.
So fill your day with some excitement and color. Laugh a lot. Love a lot. Dream a lot. And if any opportunities come your way, take them because life goes by so fast.
