The museums, libraries, churches and other such hotspots do talk a lot about the culture and tradition of a city as well as country. However, what about the forbidden areas also known as the red light districts across the globe. While people might not approve of them outwardly, the fact still remains that millions visit many of these places and hence, they serve as the ideal places to fulfil your sexual fantasies. Below we look at such nine different red light districts across the globe that are infamous for human trafficking, drugs and more.

De Wallen, Amsterdam

One of the most popular and largest red light areas in the world De Wallen is the place to be for the ones looking for carnal pleasures. The place is infamous for a number of coffee shops selling marijuana to the tourists. In recent years, due to increasing criminal activity, a number of prostitution windows have been closed.

Soi Cowboy, Bangkok

Named after an African-American who opened the first bar in this place, Soi Cowboy is lit-up by flashing neon lights all around with a carnival-like atmosphere. While you visit one of the 40 bars in this place you’ll be surrounded by women doing bikini dance while you have your drink. You can occasionally witness the topless or nude dancing. In case you’re willing to spend a night with one of the Go Go girls, you’ll have to pay the bar fine apart from the fee for sexual services to the girl. Prostitution is not legal here and the bars don’t allow drugs.

Reeperbahn, Hamburg

Also known as the Sinful Mile, Reeperbahn is one the largest red light areas in Europe.  The street has a number of sex shops, strip clubs, brothels as well as a sex museum. Street prostitution is legal during certain times of the day and Davidwache police station provides police protection for 24 hours.

Kabukicho, Tokyo

Also known as the “Sleepless Town” of Tokyo, Kabukicho is host to a number of nightclubs, love hotels, host and hostess clubs, massage parlours and sex toys shops. It is the largest red-light district in Asia and is also one of Japan’s dangerous neighbourhoods. Host and Hostess bars offer you a beautiful companion with whom you can share your intimate thoughts while having a drink. The area is visited by 150,000 people every day and is home to around 4000 businesses. You can also find Yakuza (Japanese Gangsters) on these streets as number of enterprises here run under them.

Pigalle Place is host to a number of sex shops, strip clubs, peep shows and cabarets. The Hollywood flick “Moulin rouge” took inspiration from a cabaret here of the same name. Kamathipura, Mumbai

Kamathipura is Mumbai’s oldest and Asia’s second largest red light area. The place is host to around 50,000 sex workers, which makes its world’s one of the largest red-light area given the numbers. Wenceslas Square Area, Prague

Prague, which is known for its historical importance is also known for its beautiful women. You can find a number of escorts, cabarets and strip clubs in the Wenceslas Square Area. Boy’s Town, Nuevo Laredo

The place hosts a number of bars and restaurants which makes it a good place to hangout.

Soho, London

An area in the city of Westminster, Soho was once well known as the sex industry center of London. The place had over 250 sex shops and brothels in 1950s but a massive clampdown was initiated by authorities in 1970s. The place still has a number of licensed sex shops and lap dancing clubs, though be warned there have been cases of tourists being charged exorbitant rates.
