Italy

Italy is a historical location in the South of Europe where people can enjoy vibrant landscapes and ancient landmarks. The capital of Rome was the political hub of western civilization with the Roman Empire. Italy has still emerged as a magnificent destination offering food, fun and culture. Being a prime tourist destination for many decades, individuals flock to Italy to take advantage of the unbelievable scenery and interesting tourist activities to engage in.

Location

Italy is located in the southern part of Europe and is a peninsula that extends into the Central Mediterranean Sea. A very funny but interesting fact about Italy’s geographical structure is that it is shaped like a high-heeled boot kicking a triangular structure, which is the island of Sicily. On the western side, Italy borders France, it covers Austria and Switzerland on the northern and the eastern covers Slovenia. Two small states of San Marina and Vatican share the border with Italy, surrounded by Italian territory.

People

People of Italy, mostly known as Italians are very passionate about their culture and language. Italian language is considered as very beautiful and rhythmic. It is because of this language the descriptions in Italian are more beautiful and flowery and more long-winded compared to English.

Events

The calendar year of Italy is fully packed with special events and festivals, some of which are directly linked to the Catholic Church. The other festivals include celebrations of the changing seasons and arrival of the harvest. In Italy, every small village has a special festival of its own attended by all locals. Outsiders and tourists are always warmly welcomed to these events and festivals.

Weather

The weather and climatic conditions in the Italian peninsula are of different variety. Proceeding from the north to the south, one can find an Alpine climate with different temperatures throughout the day with average rainfall. The Padana plain in Italy has a sub-continental climate – winters are very cold and summers are extremely hot.
