Do’s and don’ts for your Ski Resort visit

your Ski Resort visit

If you watch other people going for skiing and snowboarding every year and you have never been to such a holiday, you might also get tempted to go. In fact, these sports are so appealing and refreshing that anybody would love to be a part of the crowds at a ski resort. But, when you are going for the first time on a visit to a ski resort, there are several questions in your mind on what to do and what not to do on such a holiday. Here are some tips that would let you know about the important do’s and don’ts of your skiing holiday.

Do’s

  1. 1.     Stay in a Catered Chalet, Not an Apartment

Don’t stay separately in your own hired apartment. Stay in a operator-booked chalet where you will get all the facilities, along with communal dining. So, you get an opportunity to remain in a bright atmosphere, as well as get a chance to pick up advice from other guests and the staff there.

  1. 2.     Get a Professional Ski Tuition; avoid learning from friends

Don’t let your friends teach you the basics of skiing if you are a beginner. Once they get tired teaching, you might get an advice from them that may drag you into something terrible at the real site. Thus, always take professional tuitions for skiing if you are starting on with this sport.

Don’ts

  1. 1.     Don’t Just Go, Go Prepared

It can be dangerous to ski if you are not fit health-wise for it. Check your cardiovascular fitness and core strength before you actually set your feet on the snow. You may get prepared by taking up running and cycling or doing some sit-ups or squats. This will help you enjoy your first skiing experience to its best.

  1. 2.     Don’t Buy Much, Borrow the Stuff

The most important rule for beginners is to avoid buying costly ski wear and accessories. You are not going to show-off an expensive designer knock-out suit that would look picture-perfect, but are going to learn the techniques of skiing. So, borrow as much stuff as you can. Probably your friend or neighbor might have gone on a ski holiday recently. Ask them to lend you their ski helmets, hats, gloves, fleece, goggles, etc. Just buy the minimal like your personal thermal wear. If you somehow would not want to go on another ski holiday, all the bought stuff may go waste.

  1. 3.     Don’t Organize Your Own Holiday, Hire a Tour Operator

If you are going to a ski resort for the first time, you won’t have many clues on booking the right kind of accommodation. So, buy a travel and stay package from a specialist tour operator that have their representatives at the resort to guide you for the initial days.
