We all have tasted coffee but when I visited this amazing place in Columbia called Colombian coffee culture landscape in Pereira. It gave me an unforgettable experience of the flavor of coffee. The coffee cultural landscape has great beauty and prosperity. It has wide roads and people who work to get the best flavor of coffee in the world with utmost hospitality. The coffee triangle which includes Caldas, Quindío and Risaralda are the producers of the best coffee in the world. It accommodates the tourists and offers them unique and special facilities. You will be able to find golf courses, coffee plantations, landscapes dotted with wax-palms, places for extreme sports, and ecological trails. They produce chapolas which have the first 2 round leaves that coffee plants grow.

The Climate in Colombian coffee culture landscape in Pereira changes from warm to icy cool temperature. Manizales (18ºC – 64ºF) has a cold climate while Pereira (21ºC – 69ºF) and Armenia (20ºC – 68ºF) are mainly temperate. The Coffee Cultural Landscape is accessible from the airports of any of the three cities Armenia, Manizales or Pereira. The roads are safe and excellent so it is accessible by roads also. From the airport called El Edén in Armenia which operates domestic flights you can reach the place. Armenia is 55 minutes from Bogota by air. By road it leads to the bus terminal in Armenia. Manizales- the airport – La Nubia, is 8km from the city center. And it is 50 minutes away from Bogotá by air. Pereira- the airport Matecaña, is 15 minutes from the city center with flights to and from the US and Europe. It is 45 minutes away from Bogota by air.

The trip gives the tourists an enchanting scenic view and they can find cultural legacy. There are many activities that can be done like Ecotourism, Theme parks, Rural tourism, Adventure sports, Tours to cities, villages and conservation parks, Birdwatching, Agritourism, Hang-gliding, Rafting, Kayaking, Canopy, Horseback-riding, Raft-riding, Mountaineering, Trail walking, Ecological walks and Craft shops.

The food is excellent and the legacy of the food is passed on from generations. The people who live here are very passionate of the food they make and the tourists are attracted to the flavors of the place. With the delights of the earth like avocados, beans, plantain and coffee the food is made with much love and affection. The aroma and the taste of the dishes have charmed the visitors. Some of the local dishes are bandeja paisa, cazuela de frijoles, sancocho, mondongo, arepa con hogao, trucha de río, calentado paisa, chorizo and morcilla and chicharrón. There are many festivals that are celebrated in this region as the people have faith and deep rooted beliefs.
