10 mistakes of my first travel trip

10 mistakes of my first travel trip

Wow the experience of the first trip of anyone’s life is the best one. Everyone gets excited about trip for the first time. And as this is the first time you will be tensed and conscious about how you will manage your trip. My first trip was very exciting though there were some mistakes that I did so I will share with you my experience so that you may not repeat it.

1. Don’t purchase Useless tour Gadgets

When you travel anywhere for the first time you will be excited to buy gadgets and electronic items that are for entertainment or recreation. They are not useful and they will only put you in trouble of spending money unnecessarily. Instead of buying these items it is better to save money and shop specialties of the destination.

2. Don’t Worry regarding the Language

There are times that you will find yourself in trouble due to the language difference but it won’t be to a great extent unless you are going to remote areas. You might get strange things when you order for the first time but it doesn’t matter you can speak in English or use gestures to make people understand you. You can actually use the language difference to interact with people. Don’t try to learn the language before you go to your destination. As you will learn language easily and in a better way by the local people.

3. Don’t Over pack

First time travelers usually pack too much of clothes and stuff which is a problem while traveling from one place to another. And the airlines will charge you too much for huge baggage. You might end up leaving most of the stuff.

4. Don’t Leave without Travel Insurance

You might not want to take risk but it is not worth it is always better to have travel insurance. It brings peace of mind and you will be able to enjoy your trip. Travel insurance will protect you and your bags in case of emergency.

5. Forget Stereotypes before You reach your destination

Avoid making assumptions of the people and the places that you are going to by watching movies and buy hearing what people say about the place. You should discover the country and the place on your own. Each of us will have good and bad experience while visiting a place it is only about perception and don’t let perceptions control your behavior. Arrive the place with an open mind and discover new things of the place.

6. Don’t Rely on Only One means to Access Funds

Don’t try to use cards everywhere, have cash handy so that you are safe and you can spend money. The ATMs may or may not work properly, they may charge too much fee, and worst case scenario is there may not be any ATMs around and there will be many things that might go wrong. So it is better to have cash with you.

7. Don’t add to Cultural Deterioration

Avoid being a contributor to the Cultural deterioration as it makes the locals and the tourist to spend more money.

8. Don’t Be a Target

Don’t be a prey to the cab drivers and street scammers, and also for people who try to sell things they will exploit you easily.

9. Plan a Little

Don’t try to check out most of the places in one day just plan wisely as the itineraries may change anytime so will the transportation.

10. Don’t Rely Too Much on travel guide

Don’t completely depend on the guidebooks. The writers might not visit all the places and all the restaurants and especially not the ones that you are staying at.
