The Cayman Island lies deep in the heart of the Caribbean Sea with some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. This destination consists of three main islands, one of them is the Grand Cayman that is the most developed part and has a population of more than 35,000 people. Location

The Cayman Islands lie in the western Caribbean Sea. The three islands lying in this part are 480 miles far from the southern part of Miami and 180 miles to the northwestern part of Jamaica. The largest area in this part is the Grand Cayman is an area of 76 square miles.

People

The population of Cayman Island is around 60,000 as per the latest survey conducted, which includes a mix of more than 100 nationalities. Around 60% of the total population here are of mixed race whereas the rest 40% are Caucasians and African descent. People in this island are largely Christian that are mostly Anglicans and Presbyterians. Out of the total population, most of them are of Cayman descent.

Events

As far as events and celebration in Cayman Islands are concerned, two prime celebrations are responsible for attracting maximum tourist attentions to this place. These celebrations also include fishing tournament that is held annually, attracts a lot of fishing enthusiasts.

During these celebrations, locals don colorful costumes and dance to soulful music that fills the air. The theme music is generally a mix of calypso and soca rhythms and in order to add an extra taste to the Caribbean flare, steel drums are included.

Weather

If one is planning a trip to this wonderful destination, it is better wear cool clothing. Summers here are very hot, peak months being July and August. The daytime are extremely hot and comparatively the night times are cooler. Although, due to the extreme humidity the days and nights can be extremely hot. The best time for the tourists to visit this place is December.
