Bangrin Marine Protected Area, Philippines

Bangrin Marine Protected Area is located in Bani, Philippines and consists of 42.25 hectares of mangrove forest. The area is managed by the Municipal Government of Bani, the Aporao Fisherfolk Association and Nagkakaisang Samahan ng San Miguel Association.  For the eco tourism development of the environment BMPA, LSP-LED program are supporting the One Pangasinan Alliance of LGU’s.

The climate of the area is sunny and cloudless. The area is situated in a tidal mudflat known bangrin and 63.3-hectare mangrove forest rehabilitation destination has been declared as bird sanctuary.  It is home to 38 species of birds and 21 species of shellfish. Across the area, a 450 meters boardwalk has been constructed for the visitors. It is an ideal site for bird watching.

You can hire a boat to reach the mangrove forest area. Photography of birds can be done and is a paradise for explorers, birdwatchers, and ornithologists. Currently there is no accommodation to stay for bird watching, and the management is planning to set up three cottages for regular tourists and recreational visitors as well. Fishing is strictly prohibited in the protected area.
