Wonders of Malaysia

Kuala Lumpar, Malaysia has the most awe-inspiring sites to behold. The Petronas Twin Towers are the tallest buildings in the world with a height of 1,483ft (452 metres). The towers are joined together by a walk way for easier access. Its architecture is of an Islamic design. The towers inhabit 3.67 million square feet (341,763 square metres). It is filled with offices, amenities, conference rooms, a Concert Hall, Petroleum Discovery Centre, Reference Library, and an Art Gallery At the base of these two marvelous buildings is a public park filled with beautiful gardens and a swimming pool.

Parliament House is a temple made of tiles from Spain and Italy; decorated with gold and hand carved designs that were hand painted. It is a 20 story building and is surrouned by a beautiful Lake Garden called the Taman Tasik Perdana This building represents democracy in Malaysia. The Dewan Rekyat is the House of Representatives and the Dewan Negara is The Senate. Parliament is not open to the public and in order to visit it one must obtain a letter of authorization from officials.

The Dayabumi Complex is one the country’s most expensive buildings. It is steeled framed and exterior; its architecture is of an Islamic Motif. Its 36 floors high which is 515ft high (157metres) and contains a Post Office, Shopping Center and many other commercial businesses. It is surrounded by hotels, camping, cafes, pubs and all that anyone visiting could need.

Sri Mahamariaman Temple is the country’s oldest temple with a Hindu inspired design. Carved into the temple are images of gods. It is open from 6am -9pm for Hindu worshippers who pray and for visitors. One must remove any foot gear to before entering. On the outside vendors sell flowers and Indian desserts. I must say their desserts are very delicious and most important all natural but very filling

Sultan Abdul Samad Building is of a Moorish design and was built to accomodate the administrative departments of the government. The Federal Secretariat, Selangor State Secretariat, Sanitary Board and the Public Works Departments. Currently, it is used for the Judicial Department and the Textile Museum.

National Mosque or Masjid Negara is considered to be “one of the most beautiful mosques in Southeast Asia”. It is of Islamic’s traditional design and art.

Malaysia is also famous for its many beautiful National Parks. Baco National Park, Baco Range Park, Endo-Rompin,Gunung Mulu National Park, Kinong Rimba Park, Kinabalu National Park, Kuala Gula Bird Sanctuary, Niah National Park, Rantau Abang Turtle Hatchery, Sipilok Orang Utan, Taman Negara, Tunku Abdul Rahman National Park.

Malaysia also has just as many lovely gardens such as Taman Tasik Perdana also known as Lake Gardens which surrounds The Parliament House is one of the most beautiful and popular of all. Lake Gardens is made up of various other parks such as the Butterfly Park, Deer Park, Bird Park. There is also the Hibiscus and Orchid Gardens.
