Tortuguero National Park

Tortuguero National Park is one of the must visit parks of Costa Rica. It is located near the Tortuguero village. It is the third most visited park in the country and visitors can get there by airways and waterways. As the park is situated on the Caribbean coast of the country and covers an approximate area of 31,174 hectares.

Tortuguero National Park has a wide variety of biological diversity. It is a home to more than ten different habitats, different plants, tress, rainforests, and other natural beings. The park is contributing to preserve the natural resources of its neighboring village Tortuguero, which lends its name to the park. Tortuguero National Park promotes ecotourism and offers its guests an opportunity to understand the culture of local area and people.

The wildlife of the park consists of variety of mammals, birds, marine animals, sea turtles, lakes, and rainforests. During their camping and jungle trip, visitors can explore spectacled caiman, bare-throated tiger heron, frogs, tapir, and other incredible animals, birds, and reptiles. Visitors can make their lodging arrangements in lodges like Turtle beach lodge, Laguna lodge, and Parismina beach lodge. Lodging facilities in the park is not available and camping in the park is also not allowed.
