Human being a social animal likes to visit new places and cherish the beauty each place has to offer. However, no one likes to ruin their holidays by visiting a city where they may fall prey to the criminal activities happening there. People do a proper research on every country before they plan for a visit. Bomb blasts, rapes, murders, theft, loots has become a regular crime in many of the countries, where law and order are not strict enough. These criminal scenes usually happen in underdeveloped countries. However, developed countries are also pretty developed when it comes to the crime rate of their countries.

Let us discuss five counties, which would never be safe visiting ever.

South Africa

South Africa is popularly known as hijacking hotspot when crime is considered. The hijacking refers to kidnappings of cars. The car hijacking has been reported in such a huge number that the government had to put sign boards on the streets where hijacking usually takes place. This country is also believed to face the maximum numbers of rape in the whole world. The toll is 118.3 rapes per 100,000 people. Rape is never good news for a visitor whether the visitor is female or comes with the family. Murder has also become a usual crime in South Africa as the murder rate has become very consistent for a decade or so. The most criminal cases occur in poor areas. Farming has become a very dangerous profession here are the murder rate of white farmers are 8 times higher than the national murder rate. However, South Africa is a very beautiful travel destination. You may visit there with lot of precaution, protection and research.

Somalia

Crime is an obvious thing in Somalia as this is the most underdeveloped countries in the world. Somalia is well known for anarchy, corruption, lack of government and starvation. People in Somalia have proclaimed their country to be “Independent Republic of Somaliland”, which has no law and order or any constitution to control crime in the state. Somalia is also very popular for hijacking the ships and kidnapping the crew members of the ships against ransom. The pirates patrol the sea with AK-47s and attack the merchant ships. They have also killed a lot of crew members to get ransom. Travelers are advised against visiting Somalia. You would have never imagined what might happen to you if you ever dare to visit Somalia.

Columbia

The primary crime in Columbia is kidnapping. In 1998,2,338 numbers of kidnapping cases were registered and out of which 138 captivates were killed by the kidnappers. Columbia is also leading with the fourth place in the list of most murder cases around the globe. 69. 98 people were registered to be murdered per 100,000 people in 2006. Most of those are influential persons. So, no traveler would feel very safe to visit Columbia for a trip. The most interesting crime is supply of cocaine to the rest of the world. Columbia supplies 75 per cent of the total cocaine supply globally. The governance system of Columbia is ruined due to the continuous conflicts between the Paramilitary groups and the government. The charity workers are not also spared here as murders of many catholic missionaries have been reported every year. Though Columbia possesses all the aspects to become a tourist paradise, the law and order prevailing in the country does not let it happen.

Russia

Russia has gained popularity for its periodically evolving gangsters and mafias. Crime in Russia can be found in various forms say drug trafficking, money laundering, human trafficking, extortion, murder for hire, fraud and so on. The other criminal activities may include corruption, black marketeering, terrorism, abduction, arms trafficking and so on. Mafias in Russia are considered to be the most powerful gangsters all over the country as police is unable to catch them due to lack of strict laws. It is found that one Russian is murdered every 18 minutes which takes the toll to 84 murders per day. Foreigners are also kidnapped as they fetch good ransoms. The other crimes that can take a toll on the tourists are pick pocketing wallets, cell phones, cameras, and cash. You need to be very careful if you ever plan to visit Russia.

Brazil

Brazil being the country of communism, offers enough opportunities for violence and crime. The gap between rich and poor and helps the crime rate increase. Most of the tourists fall prey to this discrimination as criminals want to make some money by looting the tourists as it is a popular belief that tourist bring enough money with them. Many parts of Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paolo are known for street crimes such as thefts, rubbery, pickpocketing and so on. Criminals also create life threats against the valuable carried by the tourists. Brazil is no doubt a very popular travel destination. However, you need to be extra careful if you are planning to visit Brazil on a vacation.
