Metropolitan National Park is located in the center of prime city, Panama. It is one of the most famous tourist destinations in the country. Panama City is the biggest city in the world that has the jungle coming right within its boundaries. The total area covered under the park is approximately 232 hectares.
The park was open to public on June 5, 1988 .This place is perfect for nature lovers as it is equipped with several walking trails to give visitors a closer look around the park.
The National Park provides shelter to over 45 species of mammals, which include Squirrel monkeys, green iguanas, toucans, two- and three-toed sloths, deer, coatis, etc. Numerous species of birds here include the broad-winged hawk, the dusky ant bird and the blue-grey tanager, the orange-chinned parakeet, etc, different species of reptiles, amphibians, four species of bat, etc. Other attractions include like library, museum, gift shop, hiking, bird watching, sightseeing, etc.
Every year thousands of tourists visit the Metropolitan National Park and explore the natural beauty of the region.
