Malapascua Island is located in Visayan Sea, Philippines and is a well-known diving site. The island consists of a white sand beach called as Bounty Beach and is famous for its coral gardens and dive spots. It also features an underwater plateau known as Monad Shoal, where manta rays and thresher sharks can be spotted. Monad Shoal is the number one diving spot on the Malapascua Island that is considered as the natural cleaning station for fish. It is 1.5 kilometers long and has the top at a depth of about 20 to 24 meters.

Many of the coral reefs have destroyed due to the destructive fishing methods. The settlements on the islands survive mostly on fishing and farming.  Marine life features species of fish like mandarin fish, frogfish, and pygmy seashore. The locals call the island as Lagon. The island is reachable by bus, boat, and ferry. Activities offered on the island are cliff jumping, snorkeling, fishing, and scuba diving.
