How to make the maximum out of your rainy holiday

How to make the maximum out of your rainy holiday

Let’s face it – when you have only few days’ vacation, raining in your destination can spoil everything. But when you think of it a bit more, there are always things to do even if the weather is bad – stay inside all day in a SPA or make a museum trip, or even try to enjoy the rain. You can always make the most of your holiday, just remember – the most important thing is to enjoy yourself and have a lot of fun.

Relax at spa

Decide to relax and make an appointment for the hotel SPA center. Indulge in day-long procedures, massages, manicures and pedicures. This is the best thing to do which will help you relax probably more than sleep and as a bonus you will exit rejuvenated and detoxed. There is nothing better than little cosmetic treatments. Try the indoor pool, if any, then head to the steam room and relax. It is a great place to think about stuff, or better – to not think about stuff – completely shut your mind off and have a great time.

Right in the rain outside

If you want to go out anyways – put your swimming suit on and go out in the rain. Enjoy a nice swim (if you can), walk in the rain or as the song says “I’m singing in the rain …” You will have a lot of fun; be a little kid and splash in the puddles. They say “Paris is most beautiful when it rains” – let’s go and see if it is true. You shouldn’t wait for the storm to pass (if not dangerous of course) – enjoy it. Rainy days make one of the most beautiful photos – grab your camera and go out. Green fields are so beautiful when it rains and for more “adventurous” people – what better thing to do if you SAFELY visit the local waterfall and may be is again is SAFE have a jump in it.

Set a date with locals

If it is a common thing for your destination to be raining, go out and ask the locals for some hotspots in town. Locals know the best places to be and can tell you what to do on a rainy day. There are sites on the internet like Vayable.com which connects travelers with “insiders”, you can go on it and may be set a date with some locals who will give you a tour and show you the town.

No matter that it rains, you still want to feel the sun. Okay, check the local weather and find the closest place with sun and head there. Show your adventurous side, rent a car and travel with “the excitement of having no expectations”. May be you will find some place with no rain at all with a hidden beach with crystal water – what could be better? Best things are found when exploring the place, you might end up being surprised of what you have found, it could even be better than your main destination. And with the risk of repeating myself – the most important thing is to enjoy yourself no matter the weather or destination.
