Location
Colombia covers an area of about 440000 square miles that is around 1.14 million square kilometers. It shares its coast with both Pacific and Atlantic Ocean, whereas the lower coastal areas go along with the rain forests, inland plains and the ranges of Andes. This destination is linked to Central America by Isthmus of Panama. There are several small and medium sized islands in this destination like San Andrea and Providencia and other islands of Malpelo and Gorgona lie in the pacific side and have been established as a natural wildlife reserve. In terms of land area, Colombia nearly borders Panama in the northwestern side, Ecuador and Peru in the southern side whereas in the eastern side it borders Venezuela and Brazil.
