The beautiful and fun island of Palau

Palau is an island nation located in the Pacific Ocean. It is known for being one of the best diving destinations in the world. The coral reef of Palau has been designated as one of the Seven Wonders of the World.  The island has been under the focus of the environmentalists because of its rich biodiversity. The Palau Conservation Society aims to conserve the island and make it an island paradise for eco tourists to visit.

The bird species native and exclusive to the island are the Palau Swiftlet, Palau Fantail, Morning Bird, and the Giant White Eye. Mammals spotted on the island are Palau Fruit Bat and Palau Flying Fox, which has become extinct. Palau Frog is the endemic amphibian found here.

It is home to unique reptiles like Palau Ghost Gecko Gekko remotus, Palau Barred Gecko, Palau Snake eyed Skink, and Palau Dog-Faced Mud Snake. Marine life features fishes such as Orange Stripes Wrasse, the Dobra Goby, Bullseye Pygmy Goby and Deep blue Chromis. The vegetation cover comprises of Palau Tropical Forest terrestrial eco region and is considered as a part of the Polynesia –Micronesia biodiversity hotspot.
