They have a custom of walking through the street in parade style during the New Year eve along with swinging the blazing balls of fire around them. Whispering of Animals – Romania

Another surprising culture adopted by the people staying in Chile during the new years is getting the company of their dead relatives. On the New Year eve, the graveyard is opened and thousands of people gathers from various parts to the graveyard, lights candles and makes the dark go away with the charm of light. Siberia is a place with very cold weather condition. On the New Year, they have a custom of planting trees deep under water. Since, the lakes are covered by snow in their surface, the individuals cut hole and dive down and get down at the bottom of the lake and plant trees.

You will not believe that people staying in south Africa abides with the custom of throwing furniture at the eve of New Year. According to them, they clean their house to welcome the New Year by throwing away all old furniture from their windows and doors. Even the Italian follows the same tradition.
Bear Dance- Romania
If you are willing to celebrate your New Year in Romania, you will get enchanting to see all people covering themselves with the bear costume and dancing during the eve of the New Year. Every one puts on different type of furs in the bear costume with different colors. This is done to drive away the evils from their house.

Possum dropping – America
This is the culture adopted by the town known as Brass town of North Carolina in America. According to the culture, the possum named given to the transparent box is dropped over the noisy crowd. This place is thus known as the possum capital in the world.

In United Kingdom, a swimming is organized on the New Year eve where the winners can get gold after the brave swim. The water to swim is icy cold. Winning over this icy cold water is also an achievement during the New Year. In the last year, 2000 people were successful in raising money in the charity swim competition.
Grape Eating – Spain
During the New Year, people staying in Spain have a custom of eating up as much as fresh grapes. People put on 2 – 3 big grapes together in their mouth. There is also a wonderful competition among the people who competes with one another in eating up as much grapes as possible during the eve of the New Year. Stuffing 12 grapes together is also not un natural.
