Florida known as ‘The Sunshine State’ has lots to offer to its tourists. Be it her magnificent beaches or the theme parks, or the very famous Sea World, Florida is one the best place for you to visit during your holidays. Though there are many spots that should be visited in Florida, here we have summed up the best ten spots that attract most of the tourists.

  • Fort Lauderdale Beach: If you want to visit Venice in America, this is the place for you. It is located on the Atlantic coast having a road alongside the beach for leisurely walks which separates the beach from various restaurants, lodging and beach shops.

  • Kennedy Space Centre: This is the launch site for every space bound US rockets and if you are lucky enough, you can witness one as well. Apart from that, there are museums, movie halls and a rocket garden.

  • Weeki Wachee Springs: This is a spring with an aquarium like setting where mermaids i.e. women wearing fish tails perform underwater ballets. A boat ride, the Buccaneer Bay and a water park are also major tourist attraction.

  • Florida Keys: These are a chain of tropical coral islands located along the Florida peninsula and about 120 miles long. They are connected to the mainland by a number of bridges which are locations for film shooting.

  • Walt Disney World: This is located near Orland, in Lake Buena Vista and is famous for its four theme parks viz. Disney’s Hollywood Studio, Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Epcot and the Magic Kingdom. This is by far the most visited theme park.

  • Castillo de San Marcos: Situated in St. Augustine, this was built in late 1600s and this is the oldest fort of the United States of America.

  • South Beach: Also known as SoBe, this beach is the most happening beach of Miami. Located between the Biscayne Bay and the Atlantic Ocean, this beach has undergone many natural and manmade changes and has grown into a major tourist spot. This place is famous for its nightlife and various clubs.

  • Apalachicola National Forest: Being Florida’s largest national forest, this place comprises of dunes, swamps, cypress hammocks and is perfect for biking and hiking.

  • Amelia Island: An island in Nassau Country, this is chain of barrier islands. There are many attractions starting from historic buildings to shark-tooth covered sea shore. There are also delicious eateries and seven golf courses. This island hosts variety of festivals like the Shrimp Festival, Jazz Festival etc.

The original Universal Studio and the second one is the Islands of Adventure and also have few nightclubs and restaurants, then comes the Key West where the attractions include Ernst Hemingway’s home, a light house, the Southernmost Point and few bars, followed by Everglades though appears as a vast swamp is actually a slow moving river of grass and have creatures like alligators, bottle-nose dolphin, bald eagles etc. Then there is Sarasota which has the Ringing Museum Complex, Sanibel Island which is again an island where alligators, anhinga, night herons can be spotted and many more.
