Tips for traveling with childs

travelling with children

Children are angel in disguise- yes. But only till the time there is a good distance between you and them. Oh no! I am not being harsh! I love children- but till they start shouting, wailing and beating the heck out of me.

Holding with kids can be quiet difficult- given their wild mood swings and weird demands. While traveling with kids, you need to think about a lot more than sticking on a CD full of pop music and making toilet stops.

Here are some useful tips that might help you while planning the upcoming holidays with kids –

Packing

While packing for the trip keep extra sets of cloths for your child- you never know when he/she might poop in one or just throw up! Kids can be really unpredictable, so it is best to be ready with everything at hand!

Keep extra time in hand

If children like a place, they would love to explore it their way- duh! Who cares if we have more places to go to? They don’t have pressure of travel! So it is best to keep some extra time in hand. This way you will not lose your cool if you are subjected to their stalling, toilet stops, throwing up and so on…

Be ready with your plans

Plan your entire trip in advance and book ahead. You cannot be spontaneous anymore as parents. Arriving at your destination and having no hotel with wailing kids- not a good idea people!

Be prepared for the climate

Be prepared for your trip. If you are going to a cold place, have prior knowledge about the prevailing weather. Children dressed comfortably for the weather and terrain will be happier. If you are planning to go to the mountains, do not forget their gloves and scarves, and if it is the beach, do not leave them barefoot where sea urchins lurk.

Be app-y

No need to cram all the toys into your bag anymore. Thanks to so many kid friendly apps, it is just a one stop station now! Your child will have a book there, can draw and scribble, watch their favorite movies and cartoons- you name it and it is there- all at one place! It saves you carrying the extra weight. It is a perfect form of entertainment for your child.

Don’t forget medicines

A new location means new climate, moreover the entire routine of kids just messes up. Kids tend to get ill during holidays very easily! Carry enough pain killers, appropriate medicines for cold, fever and ointments in case children fall and bruise themselves. Make a small first aid kit and don’t forget including plasters, antiseptic wipes, thermometer and sting treatment. Always remember, prevention is better than cure!
