Pacaya-Samiria National Reserve is located in Loreto, Peru. It is one of the largest protected areas in the country, and covers an area around 20,800 kmsq. The park is rich in eco diversity and is the second largest reserve in the Amazon region. Pacaya-Samiria National Reserve is an eco reserve protecting the ecosystem of the Omagua Region. It also helps to promote the sustainable development of local towns.

Visitors can get there by boat and it is essential for them to take permission from INRENA and pay fees before entrance. The reserve consists of three major river basins, namely the Pacaya River Basin, Yanayacu-Pucate River basin, and Samiria River Basin. This reserve has an annual monthly temperature 20 degree Celsius to 33 degree Celsius. An annual rainfall of the reserve is around 2000 to 3000 millimeters and is a reason for its huge biodiversity. Pacaya-Samiria National Reserve houses 527 bird species, 69 reptile species, 102 mammal species, 269 fish species, more than 1000 species of cultivated, and wild plants.

The management of the reserve offers various adventurous, natural, educational, and environmental activities or programs. These programs teach people various ways through which they can make the environment clean and pollution free.
