Nalychevo Nature Park, Russia

Nalychevo Nature Park was established in 1995 and in 1996, it was declared as a world cultural and Natural Heritage list by UNESCO. The park territory comprises of a complex geological composition along with interesting volcanic activity history. The park consists of Valley of Nalychevo River with an opening to the shores of the Pacific Ocean.

The mountains of the area mainly include extinct volcanoes and four active volcanoes namely Avachinsky, Dzenzur, Zuhupanovsky and Koryaksky, which is one of the highest mountains of the Kamchatka. It features 200 hot springs that are set in small area lying at the center of the park. The largest springs are the Talvoskiye, Shaibnye, Goryacherenskiye, Kotel and Zheltorenchenskiye.  The water of these hot springs is considered as a remedy for people’s health.

The park has beautiful mountains, tundra and marine landscape. A large diversity of vegetation can be observe in the park area, especially the Eman birch wood are typical for Kamchatka that are a unique variety belonging to orchids family. It is home to 33 species of mammals such as bear, snow sheep, and wild reindeer. Species of bird found here are 145 such as golden eagle, sea eagle, arctic Falcon and peregrine falcon.

The park offers activities like hiking and mountain climbing. Bird watching can be done along with bird photography. Hot baths can be taken in the hot springs of the park.
