My trip to Cathedral Rock National Park, NSW, Australia

My trip to Cathedral Rock National Park, NSW, Australia

Let me share with you my experience in the trip to the Cathedral Rock National Park. It was an amazing experience when I was going to the park which is located  on 10,897 hectares and 60 kilometers from Armidale by the side of the Waterfall Way, towards the coast, it only 5 kilometers from the village Ebor and 70 kilometers from Dorrigo. For people who are driving from Sydney it is to the north and it is 555 kilometers away. For any picnic or trip that you make which includes bush walking, picnicking and bush camping can be enjoyed at the park.  There is a great opportunity for beautiful photography as there is a scenic view. Facilities like barbecues, toilets and water are available. The time taken to go to the top of the rock is around 3 hours and it has a 360 degree view. It is very beautiful but it is underrated. In my trip to Cathedral Rock National Park I found it as a unique and fabulous place with beauty of its own.

You will be able to find some pretty flowering plants and shrubs like Flax lily, pixie cap, and wax lip in the park. There are wild flowers that emerge in the spring but orchids and banksias bloom at various times during the year. You can watch out for montane green five corners with only one yellow green flowers hanging around and branches which are bristly with wide spiked leaves. It grows only in granite soils in the park. And there are many more. Well, there is a great wild life out there with kangaroos, swamp wallabies, wallaroos, black cockatoos fly in the sky in flocks in fantastic formation. You should keep an eye on the wedge-tailed eagles as they glide in elegant circles around the peak granite tors. You can also find the rose robin, brush-tailed phascogales and spotted-tailed quolls emerging at nights. So with this you should have a complete gaze at these spectacular birds and animals during your trip. During the trip you should be ready for a great walking experience. You can have a great walk at the track of the Barokee to Native Dog Creek walk.

The weather conditions during the year for visiting the park are safe and ideal for trip actually at any time during the year. During the spring (Sept, Oct, Nov) you can have a great experience of flowers and the nature so don’t forget your walking shoes and camera. During summer (Dec, Jan, Feb) the temperature is between 11.5°C and 23°C with the high altitude the park lets you be cool. During autumn (Mar, Apr, May) the wildlife is ready for the shoot so you can find kangaroos and in the morning you can have perfect pictures. During winter (Jun, Jul, Aug) the temperature is between 1°C and 11°C it is very cold and frosty mornings and sunny days. So winters can also be chosen for picnicking. The park is always open but during bad weather and fire threats it is closed.

So plan a trip to this wonderful place to have a great picnic and spend your time in an exciting way. But when while planning take care of your baggage and luggage and try to keep it light as you will have to be moving from one place to another. The park is filled with everything that you would want to see in a trip from birds, water, animals and hills etc. you can take back immense memories from the trip to the cathedral rock national park.
