Most amazing things adventure lovers must try before they die

The ‘Running of the Bulls’ is a very popular festival in Spain

If you are one of those adventure junkies who believes that life is all about living your dreams to the maximum and jumping at the chance of trying a new adventure every day, then this is piece of information is definitely for you! Given below are a series of things every adventure lover should positively do before dying. Go through the list and if you have missed out on any of them, pack your bags and get there pronto!

1.      Volcano Snow Boarding in Nicaragua

If you are tired of snowboarding down snowy hills all day long, how about snowboarding down a real, live and active volcano for a change? That’s exactly what awaits you at Cerro Negro, Nicaragua.

The ash and soot covered slopes of the volcanic mountain are a hit with extreme boarders, and you can easily reach above 80 kmph snowboarding here. What’s more, you get a hike, a snowboarding session and some chilled mojitos to boot! And when did the volcano last erupt you ask? Just in 1999! A little too hot under the collar don’t you think?

2.      Insanity Ride in United States

I actually saw how this particular ride operated in real time on one of those TV shows and wondered as to what was so scary about it in the first place. But then, I was sitting on a comfortable sofa within the confines of my home while the people on the show were actually getting strapped into this contraption that would literally let them dangle and rotate at an elevated angle about 325 meters from the ground with nothing beneath to catch them if something (God Forbid!) goes wrong!

That’s the ‘Insanity’ for you, a ride devised to test your sanity at the top off the Stratosphere Tower, deemed to be the highest observation tower in the entire US. The ride would actually move 20 meters away from the tower (into thin air) before it starts rotating. What’s more frightening is that the odd angle at which the chairs tilt would make it impossible for you look anywhere else but down (which is really down!) as you rotate!

3.      Sky Diving at Mount Everest

Jumping out of aircrafts is really cool. But jumping out of an aircraft near the tallest mountain in the world is definitely an ‘out of this world’ experience. The procedure is simple. Fly up above the summit of the mountain and jump from a height of nearly 26,000 feet which is scarily, higher than the summit itself!

Don’t forget to take your camera along and snap some awesome pictures during your descent. You may also get to see some climbers moving up/down the mountain on your way down.

4.      Scuba Diving at the Great Blue Hole

The Great Blue Hole in Belize, Bahamas has been featured in plenty of photos and videos. Nevertheless, the very mention of diving into its dark, eerie depths is enough to send shivers down your spine!

The massive sink hole is almost 203 meters deep, with most part of it being oxygen deprived. And even though 100 meters of the hole have already been explored by William Trubridge (holds the world record for free diving at the same spot), moving down this dark abyss without knowing what waits for you there is nothing but frightening.

For the more courageous though, the place holds some really colorful underwater stalagmites and stalactites, and a variety of marine life.

5.      Running of (or rather with) the Bulls, Spain

The ‘Running of the Bulls’ is a very popular festival in Spain

You need to be fast enough here in order to avoid being gored or trampled by these massive creatures that run blindly through narrow alleys, destroying everything (including humans) in their path.

The ‘Running of the Bulls’ is a very popular festival in Spain that spans over a nine day period. Held in Pamplona, the festival involves sending people running for their lives in with a horde of giant bulls chasing them through the city’s streets. The bulls are eventually herded off into a bull ring, but not before creating a bit of a havoc among the runners.

The bulls run for 7 consecutive mornings. This gives you plenty of time to muster up the courage to get on the street and wait for their arrival. Remember this! When you see the first rocket, get ready to run. And when you see the second one, start running without looking back!

6.      Swimming in the Devil’s Pool

It may not sound that dangerous. But one needs the courage and determination to actually jump into and swim, not to mention sit at the edge of a swimming pool which itself is located at the edge of a thunderous waterfall. That’s exactly what you get at the Victoria Falls located along the Zambian, Zimbabwean border.

The Devil’s Pool is a naturally formed swimming pool located at the very top and at the very edge of the Victoria Falls. A natural rock wall formation just beneath the water’s surface prevents swimmers from being washed over the falls. Swimmers can swim right to the edge of the falls and look down without the worry of falling. Now how’s that for a terrifying experience?

7.      Zorbing

It may not look that difficult or adventurous, until you actually get into one and try maneuvering it downhill. An extreme sport in itself, Zorbing is extremely popular worldwide and requires you to get into a giant, transparent, inflatable ball and roll down a hill or slope.

You can try to maneuver the orb down the hill (highly improbable though) or just end up tumbling downhill at breakneck speeds like one of the cheese rolls in those Cheese Rolling competitions. You can also opt to go zorbing on a lake and opt to do it in groups (the more, the merrier).
