Famed Disney resorts around the globe

We have spent our childhood watching Disney characters; they have made many memories. Even as a grownups, we still enjoy those characters and adventures. After seeing the success of original Disneyland that was opened in 1955 in Anaheim, California Walt Disney went on to open parks in Lake Buena Vista, Florida, Tokyo, Japan, Paris, France, and Honk Kong, China. All the resorts provide us with multiple activities making it a whole day fun with Disney characters. Various famous resorts of Disneyland are known for their best recreational activities and relaxation based on Disney theme. Here is a list of famous Disney resorts.

Tokyo Disney resort

Tokyo Disney resort was opened on April 15, 1983, and is the first foreign Disney property. It consists of two theme parks, namely the Tokyo Disneyland and Disney Sea. It includes seven themed lands, fantasyland, Tomorrow land and adventure land. The resort consists of several hotels but only three are owned by it having the largest park structure in the world.

It was built by Walt Disney Imagineering and is operated under The Oriental Land Company. The resort was expanded with Tokyo Disney Sea on September 4, 2001 and contains seven themed ports built around the seas and other waterways. The resort consists of a mysterious island includes attractions based on Jules Verne’s fiction 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, and Journey to the Center of the Earth.

Disneyland Paris

Disneyland Paris was opened as Euro Disney Resort on April 12, 1992, and is located in Paris, France. It includes two theme parks, an entertainment complex, a golf course and six Disney resort hotels. Euro Disney maintains the resort and this company is partially owned by The Walt Disney Company. The resort is divided into lodging, parks and shopping centers. Walt Disney Studios park reveals movie making magic in four themed lands and pirates beaches.

Hong Kong Disneyland Resort

Hong Kong is the second Disnelyland Resort of Asia, and opened its doors on September 12, 2005. The resort is located in Penny’s bay, Hong Kong. The resort comprises of two hotels and one theme park. Some of the land is reserved for further expansion. The resort is maintained and operated by Hong Kong International Theme Parks, a firm jointly owned by Walt Disney and the Government of Hong Kong. It includes two resort hotel and Hong Kong Disneyland Park and Inspiration Lake Recreation Centre.

Shanghai Disney Resort

Shanghai Disney Resort is located in Shanghai’s Pudong district. The park will be Disney Resort’s first foray into the Chinese mainland. The resort is expected to be opened in 2015.

Disney Caribbean Beach Resort

It is located in Epcot area of Walt Disney World and was opened on October 1, 1988. It is operated by Walt Disney Parks and Resorts. The resort is designed using the Caribbean theme. All the buildings have been grouped into six villages, each named after an island in the Caribbean. Every village is accompanied with its own swimming pool and some also have their own playground.

Disney’s Art of Animation Resort

Disney’s Art of Animation is located in Lake Buena Vista, Florida. The resort has been designed keeping the point of view of families. The resort consists of four famous character themes namely Cars, Finding Nemo, The Lion King, and The Little Mermaid. The hotel is decorated with various giant versions of several items and props from the movies.

Disney’s All- Star Sports Resort

Disney All-Star Sports Resort lies on the south portion of the WDW property and is based on sports theme. The resort is decorated with giant novelty items such as surfboard bay, giant football helmet, the baseball-themed grand slam pool, and a football field.

Disney’s Pop Century Resort

Opened in December14, 2003 and is the fourth valued price resort in the complex of Walt Disney World Resort. It consists of Disney All Star Movies based on the theme of American pop culture. Each area is themed about a precise decade and items related to that decade.

Summary

Disney Resorts are a great places to spend your vacations. They are as good, if not better, than a usual resort, and with the Disney theme, it becomes more interesting and entertaining.
