Emperor Valley Zoo

The Emperor Valley Zoo is located adjacent to the Botanical Gardens, Port of Spain in Trinidad. It covers around 7.2 acres of land that offers an awe-inspiring view of nature to its visitors. The zoo incorporates pathways, fences, and buildings with the natural topography creating a wilderness atmosphere and a feeling of relaxation to numerous visitors who come here every year. It houses unique species of birds that visitors can see learn about their habitats. The Zoo named for the Emperor Butterfly who once used to come to this natural valley frequently, and the Zoo came into existence when the Zoological Society of Trinidad and Tobago Inc. was founded. The Emperor Valley Zoo was opened for public on November 1952.

Today, it is a popular family attraction, highlighting both the local and exotic animals. Further, the zoo is emphasizing for the conservation of local fauna, and housing different species of local animals. Visitor can see here many of the mammals, reptiles, and fish and they can get chance to learn about natural habitats of animals.
