The lost watch that worth millions

The lost watch.

“What is the deal with this watch anyway? It does not even look very expensive,” his friends asked him.

Rajesh had gone to have dinner with his family in a restaurant where he had found this watch. He asked everyone the moment he saw it lying on the floor but no one knew anything about it. Rajesh even went to the manager who told him about a middle-aged man who had just left. Rajesh had seen his face. He knew he would certainly recognize him if he saw that person again.

He always kept the watch in his pocket since that day. His friends even made fun of him for being beyond honest and said that he must give it to the hotel manger just in case the person comes there but Rajesh denied. He knew that if he gave it to someone else it would never reach to that person.

One day he saw that person in a shopping mall. He was waiting for someone. Rajesh at once went to the person and said, “Sir, did you happen to lose your watch? I mean I found a watch in a restaurant near rail station last Saturday.”

The middle-aged man who was lost in his thoughts pulled himself together and said, “Yes, yes it was my watch.”

Rajesh took out the watch from his pocket and handed it over to the middle-aged man who got nostalgic. He said, “This watch belonged to my father who passed away when I was only seventeen. This watch is valuable for me. I don’t know how to thank you. I can’t thank you enough.”

Rajesh was happy that he could bring a smile on someone’s face. He said, “It’s nothing sir. It is just that I had seen you there in the restaurant when you were leaving. I wanted to give it you myself.”

The middle age man had tears in his eyes when he said, “My father used to work in a bank. He met with an accident and this watch was on his wrist when they took him to the hospital. He was in coma for five months. My mother spent every single day sitting next to him. She wanted him to die since the doctors had already declared that he would spend all his life lying there in that bed. I always kept this watch with me. It reminded me of my dad who always kept his family on top of his priority list. I could hardly sleep ever since the day I had lost this watch. Thank you so much. Let me buy you a drink or tell me if I could help you any other way. I can never return the favor.”

Rajesh did not know that a simple watch could actually worth millions for someone. At times, a little act of kindness on your part can help you count your own blessings.
