3. Rio Tinto, Spain:
This water body runs from Sierra Moreno to the Gulf of Cadiz in Spain and turns completely blood red. The intense red color is because the high iron content of the water. The river was, and is still used for mining of gold, copper and silver. It is believed to be the famous mines of King Solomon.
4. Fly Geyser, Reno Nevada:
This incredible landscape is an accidental creation, which took place during the digging of a well at an unknown geothermal point. The hot water gushed out and a mini volcano came into being. The beautiful terraces and their splendid color are because of the different minerals present in the water.
5. Cano Crustales, Colombia:
The river Cano Crustales from Serrania de la Mecarena Mountains is also, more correctly, called “The River of five Colors”, “The liquid Rainbow” or “The River that ran away from Paradise”. Beautiful waterfalls, wells and hollows with clear water add to the river’s beauty. During September to November the algae in the water imparts it colors like blue, green, red and yellow, transforming the river in a rainbow.
