“She is heavenly beautiful. She has almost everything that is needed to lead a happy life. A rich husband, a big house to live in and a posh car, you name it and she has it,” Melisa told her husband Gary. He could not utter up a single word since he has been trying to be a good provider to the family but his job in an insurance company could never give him enough profit.
“Here comes her husband. He is rich and famous. He gets his name published in magazines every now and then,” Melisa added.
Her husband still had nothing to say. He was staring at her. He had no guts to say that his boss usually forgets his name let alone getting interviewed for magazines.
The couple had got married two years back and had big dreams for their married life. The day Gary got a job in the insurance company he had assured his wife that he would buy a big house for her within a year but when he started working, he realized that it was really a big deal for him. Right next to their apartment there was a posh house of this beautiful news reporter who had all the worldly possessions. From the day Melisa had seen her, she wanted a life like that. Melisa was a schoolteacher by profession and knew that her teaching profession could never give her that sort of a life. On the contrary, Gary was not ambitious at all. His only wish was to see his wife happy and content which was next to impossible as his wife had big dreams.
On day when Gary and Melisa were in their living room, Melisa started peeping out of the window, as she knew it was the time for their beautiful rich neighbors to come back home. In the last few months, she had come to know almost everything about them.
“Oh, my god, she is there. Look at her dress. She looks stunningly beautiful,” Melisa was literally crying when she said that.
“I wonder, how she looked early morning without make up,” her husband said making fun of her.
“She always looks awesome,” the wife replied.
Melisa took a deep breath and went back to the kitchen as she reminded herself that the tea was boiling in the kitchen. Gary put on a sad face, as he could never give such a life to his adorable wife.
A few months later at around twelve at night, Gary heard some noises outside. He woke Melisa up who at once ran towards the window and saw that the house of their rich neighbor was on fire.
The duo ran outside to help their neighbors.
Melisa skipped a heartbeat when she first had a look at the beautiful news reporter as her husband came outside carrying her in his arms. Melisa at once gave a nod to Gary and asked him to move forward to help.
A few minutes later Melisa went to the news reporter who was now sitting in a chair and said, “Oh I am really sorry. Are you all right? How did it happen? We live nearby.” She did not know what to say
“We are fine. My husband has given a call to the fire station. They must be on their way,” the news reporter said.
When the situation was completely under control, Melisa and Gary witnessed something that astounded them. The beautiful news reporter had no legs. It was difficult to notice since she was wearing a long gown that had covered her whole body. Her husband came and carried her towards the car, as they had to stay in a hotel room that night. For the first time in life, Melisa had no words. He went back home and did not utter a single word to her husband who was still in shock.
You never know everything about others around you. Everyone has his/her demons to deal with, be happy with what you have as you always have everything that can keep you happy all your life.
