An innocent looking man whose name was Greg went to the supermarket to buy some grocery. He was wearing a long coat and a hat. He had hardly bought all he had on his list when he noticed that a young girl who had long curly hair was staring at him from tip to toe. He got nervous but didn’t dare to ask her anything. He went towards another section to avoid the girl but she followed him. When he took all that he wanted and was about to go near the exit the same girl pulled him with his coat.
“Oh please don’t do that,” he said.
“Don’t move. I am not going to hurt you,” the girl said in a mild tone.
“What do you want, my money or mobile phone?” the boy asked.
“No, there is nothing like that. I need your help,” the girl said.
The boy pulled himself together, took a deep breath and said, “How can I help you?”
“I have stolen an expensive hair dryer and I want you to hide that under you coat for a while, the girl told him.
The boy didn’t know what to say. He stood quietly without saying a word but he was already sacred. He gathered the strength and said, “You can take my coat and hide that hair dryer with you,”
“Can you see that guard there? He had caught me a few months back when I was trying to steal an expensive pair of shoe. I put on the shoe and started moving towards the exit but somehow he caught me. If I go out taking that hair dryer with me, he will certainly recognize me. Come on, you are a brave young man. You must help a poor girl who is in deep trouble, the girl said.
The boy took a deep breath and said, “I can’t lie. My mother says that the people who lie belong in hell.”
“Sweetheart, with that face you have no need to tell a lie,” the girl said as she took out the hair dryer from her jacket and hid it inside Greg’s coat.
“It looks perfect. You just walk straight, I am right behind you,” she said.
Greg took a step further. He was feeling nervous and his face had already gone red.
The guard at the exit door noticed his nervousness, smiled and said, “Do you have something under your coat? I mean something that should not be there.”
Greg kept quite.
The guard looked at his face, pointed his finger towards his coat and asked, “What’s that?’
Greg looked at him right in his eyes and said, “Sir, I have a small little instrument there which is to be used by a woman but it is still unused.”
“You are one hell of a guy.” The guard had a big smile on his face when he said that. He let Greg come out as he was impressed with his sense of humor or he just thought so.
Sometimes you strengths turn into your weaknesses and your weaknesses give you an edge over others around you.
