Smartphones are a major part of our lives nowadays. Everything is linked to our smartphones. We have access to people, information, documents, emails, whatever you need, on the tip of your fingers, anytime you want. It is a blessing because it has made life so easy.
But at the same time, it is a curse too. Why? One would wonder. Smartphones are also responsible for making us lose out attention from ongoing tasks. Your mind suddenly switches between the present to the future, sometimes to the past and so on.
The push notifications on our phones are suitable examples of Pavlov’s classical conditioning. As soon as we hear the notification sound, it shifts our focus towards the phone and we lose attention on the task in hand.
So remember Focus on what you are seeking, not what people are pushing to you.
