Sex gives pleasure initially. But later, it just gives you an illusion of pleasure, and you simply do it because you can’t help doing it, and can’t help longing for it. When you think about it, sex is a lot like food. We all need it in our lives. But we could either use it to bring intimacy into our relationship and nurture it, or we could just do it as if it were an itch that we desperately want to scratch. The first includes love, the second is completely deprived of love. Sex with love takes you more and more close to your partner every time you do it. Without love, it doesn’t even matter who you are doing it with, and it borders on meaningless.
