Who Knows The Secret?
If you were to take life advice from a collection of people, who better to ask than the happiest and most fulfilled? John B. Izzo, author of The Five Secrets You Must Discover Before You Die, did this by interviewing about 200 people ranging from 59 to over 100 years old. They were nominated by others who thought of them as among the happiest and most fulfilled people they knew.
In the interviews, he invited them to talk about what brought them meaning. From their thoughts, he derived five “secrets” that are really not so secret, but which all too many people choose to ignore.
The Five Secrets You Must Discover Before You Die
Secret #1: Be true to yourself and live your life with intention.
Secret #2: Leave no regrets; live with courage, moving toward what you want, rather than away from what you fear.
Secret #3: Become love. That is, choose to be a loving person.
Secret #4: Live the moment, being fully in every moment, not focusing on the past or the future, but experiencing each present moment with gratitude and purpose. Judge your life less, and enjoy it more.
Secret #5: Give more than you take…leave the world a better place for your presence.
