How to deal with difficult people

deal with difficult people

No person can remain completely unmoved and intact when dealing with a difficult or negative person. You cannot escape people who are there to cause trouble in your life by either opposing everything you do or doing something which you never want to do. Well, here are ways to deal with such difficult people in life.

Guard your self respect

Remember that you are dealing with a person who is negative and doesn’t deserve the kind of attention you are paying. Your every reaction after knowing this fact is useless. You will never get the kind of response you deserve. What will happens next is you losing your cool and probably breaking out a fight which will later hurt or effect you because of your rational mind. Every time a genuinely sane person gets involved into a fight, he/she is introduced to great remorse after everything has ended. You start losing respect in your own eyes.

Try ignoring

Anger causes fight and a fight is not good for either of the parties. “An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind.” The person on the opposite end might not be aware of this due to his/her negative nature, but you are. So why to get angry at anything? It will be a complete waste of your energy and ethics. One more thing, ignorance is the best policy to tackle such individuals. Just ignore their insane arguments and talks and get going. You will not only make them realize that you don’t get bothered because of them, but also make them stay away the next time.

Stay away

There might be a situation when you feel that you cannot tolerate negativity and negative or difficult people in your life. It is not a problem and you are not doing something wrong by staying away. Rather than suffering from energy drain because of difficult people around you, opt to scratch them out of your life.

Write or record

If it is not possible to avoid the presence of such people in your life, find a way out to express your agony. Nothing can be a better help than expressing it to yourself by writing down whatever your think. It will help you vent out your anger and distress on a piece of paper and make you feel comfortable. Other than writing, record what you are feeling because of the person on a tape. Speak as much as you can. You have suppressed your feelings for long. This is your personal time to scream and relieve yourself.

Start forgiving

Easier said than done but then this can be the best you can do to keep yourself fine. Every person is born with a specific individuality and you cannot change his/her nature however hard you try. So, just forgive and move ahead. Never take anything said or done by such person, to heart. You are not here to change someone’s life or nature.
