There is nothing shameful or reprehensible about putting your needs first. In fact, by doing so, you can pursue your purpose efficiently and be generous to others at the same time.
A Quote by Dr Prem Jagyasi
Many of us tend to live in a quandary. At one end, we want to make sure that we are not exploited by the others, at other, we are hounded by guilt when we think about refusing someone’s request. It seems like a loss-loss situation, when it could very easily be otherwise. Under such circumstances, we should keep in mind our priorities. If we are free, and the person who is asking us to do their work is genuinely in need and cannot do without our help, then it’s best to go forward and help them. However, if despite having the capability, the person asks you to do the task, and you already have things that you want to do, then it is best to politely decline the request. In such a case, you should keep your own priorities in front.
