How-to-deal-with-mean-friends

Sometimes in life, you might encounter mean friends. Perhaps she/he says intolerable, mean things to you and after that acts as if that was merely a joke, or no important thing. Maybe she/he overlooks you, or attempts to make you feel substandard by cracking jokes about your outfit or on your likings. Don’t worry as there are ways to deal with mean friends.

Be positive

Mean friends can make you feel substandard, insignificant or unintelligent. You need not to have feel that way. Believe in yourself. It is on your part how you take those comments. If you let those comments hurt you, they surely will do, but on the other hand if you ignore those comments that will not hurt you. Think about some strong points that you can flood them with in your defense and do not let them crack a joke on you again. If you keep on hurting yourself repeatedly, they will make it a regular practice and it will lead to dishearten you, or may be you can lose self-confidence. Try to beat them at their weak point and do remember that you are the best.

Being positive in attitude will help you to deal with mean friends.

Avoid contacts with them

Another best way to deal with mean friends can be avoiding contacts with them. Avoiding their company can also make you avoid their hurting comments. Stop going out with mean friends on public places, in parties or on picnics, etc. Let your mean friends know that you are hurt by their comments. Avoid helping them and let them know your likes-dislikes and secrets so that they should not get a point to tease you. Choose your friends wisely. There are many people around you that can be your good friends. You can also take help of your good friends to counsel on how to deal with mean friends.

Rather than getting hurt, it is better to be away from them.

Involve mature people

If your mean friends keep on hurting you time and again, if their teasing gets worse day by day, or if the situation becomes painful for you, it would be better to involve mature people like your teachers, parents or someone senior to you. They might have several good suggestions on how to deal with mean friends. They can warn your mean friends not to hurt you again or they would take an action against them. Your teachers/parents can even inform to the parents of your mean friends about their wrong deeds and make them stop hurting you.

Remember nobody has the right to hurt you, so it is better to get help from some mature people before you get hurt.
