Procrastination across the nation

Procrastination-across-the-nation

When I think of procrastination, I think of a pile of laundry on the floor and a vacation that I have always wanted to go on. I think about the thought process that goes on in my head and how I try and find a time slot in the future where this can fit in. I find a 30 minute window in the next day that I can fit the laundry into and a few months next year where I could possibly fit this vacation into.

What if our time was limited and we could see how much time we had left? What if we could count down the days until our demise and plan our lives accordingly. Then we would act in a completely different manner. Every action would either take on a sense of urgency, or we would completely slow down and appreciate the small things in life. We would rush home to spend time with our loved ones, and we would go on vacation as soon as we could afford it.

There is a danger of acting as if time was infinite for us, and some would have you believe it is. But if we are here for eternity, I can remember my life before this one, so I cant rely on remembering my life after this. So I will ensure I create a life that I enjoy now. This means not waiting for things to happen, but making them happen. Never waiting for the perfect moment to act, but acting whenever possible. Living life as if time is finite is more fulfilling. It makes you appreciate every moment, and pushes you to be grateful, not wasteful.
