Anger leads to a lot of misunderstandings and bad feelings. The situation becomes even more difficult if you have anger issues with your partner. You need to learn to resolve the matter peacefully. Read below to know about some ways of dealing with your angry partner.

Listen to your angry partner

The best thing you can do is to listen to your angry partner. Staying calm and letting the angry person speak is a very good way of dealing with his anger. This way you will at least be able to show your partner that you respect his feelings and try to understand him. In addition, you will also be able to know the exact reason of his anger. Angry people often want people to pay attention to their words and feelings. Once his anger is out, he will automatically cool down. It will be a big mistake if you start arguing and fighting with your partner while he is angry. This will only give rise to other issues and the matter will never resolve. You will also spoil your mood. Therefore, wait till the anger of your partner subsides. You can then sit and discuss the situation together.

Communicate with your partner

Once your partner has cooled down, it is very important to discuss the whole matter with him. Do not hurt him or complain about him, but politely tell him what went wrong and what made you upset. You need to make him realize that although it is okay to feel angry, shouting and yelling can only make the situation worse. Tell him that his anger makes you nervous, scared and sad, and it is not a correct way of dealing with things. You can also offer to help him as much as you can. Once your partner realizes that you understand his feelings and are there to help him, his anger will probably reduce and he will learn to become more peaceful.

Pay attention to your language

An angry person does not realize what he says or does. If you say something rude, it will lead to further arguments and fights. So, pay attention to what you speak and how you deal with an angry person. Be polite in your words and handle the matter very gently. In no way should the angry person feel offended. This can increase his anger. For example, if you want to comment on his behavior, instead of saying ‘I am fed up with your anger’ try saying ‘I would really appreciate if you handle the matter peacefully’. This will convey your message to your partner without making him angry. Always try to remain calm and take matured decisions.

Move away from the situation

Sometimes in an angry environment you really do not understand how to react and this makes you frustrated. If you feel that the matter is becoming out of control and you will not be able to handle the situation, it is better to move away. Staying with an angry person for too long can make you lose your patience and get into an argument or fight. Therefore, the best way to control yourself is to take a break from everything. Just move to another room or leave the house for sometime. If you have kids at home, it is better to take them out for a while so that you give your partner enough time to cool down and think over the matter. When your partner is left alone, he will obviously have nobody to hear him and he will slowly calm down. It might be possible that he will be able to realize that his behavior was not good and it made everyone upset. Once everything seems peaceful again, you can discuss the problem and find a solution.

Ask your partner to control himself

If your partner is angry for sometime, you can easily handle him and control the situation. However, if your partner stretches the matter endlessly, you need to gently remind him that it is enough and he needs to stop. When angry, people seldom realize that they are creating an unfavorable environment for others. You have to make them realize that his anger is irritating everybody and he needs to calm down. Tell him that being angry is never a solution to a problem. If he really wants to resolve his problems, he needs to sit down and think peacefully over it. Discussing a problem with others is a much better option.
