How to Stop Talking and Start Doing

Want to stop talking and start doing? Follow these 6 steps

All of us have big ideas that might shape our future. However, only a few of us can actually turn these big ideas into reality. Most of us only engage ourselves in empty talks and unreal dreams. But we shrink from taking any constructive action that will help in turning these dreams into reality. Here are a few tips that will help you stop talking and start doing. To do something that so far you have only been talking about is the shortest way to a confident you.

6 Steps to stop talking and start doing

  1. Communicate your vision

Join hands

Having vague ideas is not enough. You have to have a clear vision that you can put on paper. Documenting your vision is not enough. You should also prepare a systematic plan of action to work on it. Join hands with people who have similar dreams and are willing to work towards them. Learn to communicate and discuss your vision with like-minded people and take concrete steps towards converting your dream into reality.

  1. Stay focused to quit talking and start doing

Once you know what you want to do, just go ahead and do it. You have to remain focused on your vision. Let your mind not be like a butterfly that keeps on flying from one flower to another. Keep a check on your screen time. Along with a focus, you also need a strict disciplinarian approach. You have to understand the importance of urgency and must know when is the right time to strike the hammer.

  1. Be passionate

Remain passionate

You have to be passionate about what you are planning to do. Passion for something can be a real driving force. It can make you take quick steps that will bring you closer to your dream. Always keep in mind the purpose for which you are doing something and how this is going to change your life for good. This passion and inspiration will act as fuel and will help you in striving harder for your dreams.

  1. Take one bite at a time

If somebody were to ask you ‘How do you eat an elephant?’, you should reply ‘One bite at a time’. Most of us talk about big things and we want these things to materialize in one go. But you must remember that “Rome was not built in one day”. Instead of just talking, start taking small steps towards your goals. They may appear minuscule but they can have a very strong impact on your ultimate dream.

  1. Don’t brag

Stop bragging

Great inventors did not go around telling the world what big plans they had. Instead, they worked hard to invent those things. They showed the world their inventions and not just their great plans. Therefore you too should learn to talk less and act more. Stop trying to prove to the world that you are brilliant by only talking about your bright ideas. Instead, show them how you shaped those ideas into reality.

  1. Accept failures

When you try something new, there are chances that you might fail in the first attempt. Don’t be demoralized by that. You must remember that failures are also a part of life. Use these failures as stepping stones towards building a better tomorrow. Learn to accept the mistakes that led to your failure. Take lessons from these mistakes and failures and work towards your goal. Do not be afraid or feel ashamed to start all over again. Let that spider which inspired King Bruce inspires you as well. So stop talking and start doing. Try and try until you succeed!

Final Words

You may have the most magnificent ideas but they are of no use if you cannot bring them into reality. Therefore, instead of just talking big,  think big and take appropriate action towards realizing your big dreams. With faith, patience, and perseverance nothing is impossible.
