Maintain your calm

However, consent exception is one of the exceptions of such a rule. This means that a cop canât randomly stop someone and begin his search. Rather, he can first ask the person about his consent for the search and if the person agrees the cop may proceed searching him. However, there are very few people who are actually aware of this fact and fall prey to various cops. They just end up paying them bribes for not harassing them anymore. Certain facts, like this one should be understood by every civilian while dealing with cops. Your refusal for not allowing a cop to search you would never be used against you and you certainly have a right to ask the cop for a warrant in such scenarios.

It is really important that they provide a genuine reason to believe that you are the one committing a crime. This should always be based on strong circumstantial evidence which is to be proved in court. Therefore, laws should never be broken at the first place, however, if you have to do so due to some unavoidable reason, please do not make it public.
