How to deal with cats

Cats are very adorable pets. The way they look, play and behave with you makes you feel really comfortable in their company. Cats are of various breeds and types and one should follow certain steps while dealing with them.

Discipline your cat well

The more you discipline your cat, less would be its behavioral problem. It’s your responsibility to teach the pet about various right and wrong behaviors. If you ever see your cat doing something good and nice, appreciate its behavior by patting gently on the head and body. You can pat your palm onto its face so as to show love and concern. Remember, that cat is a pet that would always look for and demand your love, attention and concern. While you appreciate its behavior, remember to make the pet understand things that should not be done. If you see any unusual behavior that the pet reflects, immediately try to teach her the ways to behave well. Do not shout at the cat or irritate the pet unnecessarily. Rather, maintain your calm and show a friendly behavior towards it.

Never surprise your cat

Cats usually hate surprises; therefore you should never try to do so. Never disturb the cat while it is sleeping. Do not take away the food from the cat while it is eating as it would unduly irate the pet and it could even attack you or others around. Let the animal have its food comfortably and at ease. You should always avoid such things as it would provoke the cat to become ferocious towards you. But, one should understand that hitting them would worsen the situation. The cat could become more irritated and even run away from the home. Also, this is never a good way to deal with such sober, cute and adorable animal. Always remember that you should never try to develop that fear factor into the cats. Behave with them in a friendly manner.

Groom them well

Grooming is definitely very important, may it be the grooming of a dog or a cat. The better you groom your cat, better would be its appearance and health. Brushing your cat occasionally is very important and keeps its coat soft, silky and free of dust, mites and various diseases. Wash the cat and bathe it using specific products made for this purpose. Do not use too warm or even too cold water while bathing your cat; always use lukewarm water. Also, if the cat does not want to take a bath and behaves in a different manner to depict the same, never force it on the pet. This would otherwise irritate the cat and it could behave really badly.

Feed them well

This is extremely important as their feed would decide their well being and health. Don’t allow them to eat everything and anything. While certain things would definitely be beneficial for their health, there are various other things which could prove harmful to such pets. There are specific nutritional diets and foods for cats available in the market. Go out and purchase the most suitable for your cat’s growth and nutritional requirements. Ensure that the feed contains every bit of the nutrition your cat would need to grow healthy and fit. Feed them as per the directions mentioned on the feed you purchase. While feeding the cats, ensure that the utensils you are using are clean and free from any contamination otherwise it could lead to various infections and diseases in the cats. Feed them moderately and in intervals rather than feeding a lot of diet at one go and disturbing their digestive balance.

Ensure regular health checkups and cleanliness

It is very important to take your cat to the vet and get a health checkup done. This would ensure timely vaccines and medication for the pet, which would in turn keep it free from different diseases. Also, your vet would be the best person to provide useful medical advice for the cat which would include everything from the diet of the pet to the cleanliness measures you need to take. A vet would also see the things from the point of view of a doctor and would definitely be able to check the cat for different diseases and syndromes well before time. Such things would not be easy to detect by a normal person who is not experienced in this field.
