Sculpt in mind first- Live A Great Life Podcast by Dr Prem – Chapter. 8

Here is a quote – First comes thought, then organization of that thought into ideas and plans, then transformation of those plans into reality. The beginning, as you will observe, is in your imagination.

—Napoleon Hill.

All works and creations that we see around us – including the most spectacular ones – were conceptualized in someone’s mind. It is in the mind that the blueprint of the structure that you seek to build is first created. It is in the mind that an idea – of success or happiness – is first born. Hence, it’s important for individuals to learn to have positive thoughts that can eventually lead to inspiring creations. A well-sculpted mind is always geared to a certain degree to harmonize the whole system, which includes the body, the emotions, and the energies. Such a chiseled and balanced mind organizes thoughts in the best way possible and channelizes them in the right direction.

An un-sculpted mind, on the other hand, has two prominent characteristics – unnecessary movement, and imitation of everything it perceives around itself. Individuals with such minds find it difficult to focus on the positive aspects of things and accordingly, they indulge in wasteful activities. Obviously, the idea of conceiving and realizing inspiring creations is out of the question.

Positive thoughts attract positive actions

We are capable of doing good things to make the world a better place to live in. Creating the world we want is possible; what we need to make that happen is the positivity of our thoughts. Once you are clear about what you wish to create, you can maintain a steady stream of thoughts – unwavering, resolute, and focused. Your positive thoughts will surely manifest themselves to make positive action possible.

Barbara Fredrickson, a positive psychology researcher at the University of North Carolina, conducted a research titled ‘The broaden–and–build a theory of positive emotions’ and found that people who have a certain element of positivity in their thoughts can see more possibilities in their lives3. According to her research, positive thoughts and emotions attract more options and opportunities.

What you want must be well-sculpted in your mind

For the true empowerment and realization of our life path, we have to be responsible for what we want and what we don’t. We need to find the right balance between a conscious state of activity and a compulsive state of action and between the possible and the impossible. According to George Lucas, it is our focus that determines our reality.

Epictetus opines, ‘It is not things in themselves that trouble us, but our opinion of things.’ Anything that’s clear in our mind will eventually reflect through similarly clear actions. While positive thoughts will present themselves as awesome activities and creations, negative ones will cause destruction.

Thereby, we must focus only on what we require, not on what we detest. By emphasizing what we need in our mind, we are, in a way, getting closer to realizing our ideas and desires.

Aim to realize the connection of mind, thoughts, energies, and body

An organized, trained and focused mind has perfect control over its thoughts and emotions. Such control over thoughts and emotions further channelizes our energies in the right direction. The direction thus taken has its impact on our body as it starts reacting in the same way. When all four, mind, thoughts, energies, and body, are free of conflicts, our chances of reaching our destination and realizing our goals grow phenomenally. That happens because such an equilibrium boosts our ability to create and manifest what we want.
