Dr Prem Jagyasi says that life comes in opposites. There’s happiness and there’s grief, there’s success and there’s failure, there’s love and there’s hatred, and so on. These exist for a reason. For if one wasn’t there, there wouldn’t be a meaning to the other. It is the contrast among things that makes them so beautiful and sweeter. In the same way, it is only those who have experienced this contrast that best understand life. If you were born with a golden spoon, adds Dr Prem Jagyasi, you might never experience the beauty of success the same way as someone who has seen a life of poverty. To do that, first you’d have to understand what poverty means. Only then you could be grateful.
