Respect conventions but never forget that they show just one way of doing things.

If everybody were to follow convictions, nothing new would ever come to the world. On the other hand, adds Dr Prem Jagyasi the world would be an extremely chaotic place without any conventions in it. Therefore, it is important that we respect conventions, but we shouldn’t limit ourselves to them. We should be openminded enough to recognize that conventions are simply the ways of the world, which, just like the world, keep on changing. So, says Dr Prem Jagyasi, rather than being hard-headed about conventions, we should always be on the lookout for a way easier and more affordable than the conventional one. An if someone shows us such a tried and tested way, we should be eager to follow it.
