People staying in various parts of the world have different ways of celebrating their new year. Apart from enjoyment and fun, there are some tradition which is followed by the people staring in different countries of the world.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Weirdest New Year Customs<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>Great Ball of fire \u2013 Scotland<\/b><\/p>\n<p>If you visit Scotland during the New Year, you will get to discover a strange custom of the people residing there. They have a custom of walking through the street in parade style during the New Year eve along with swinging the blazing balls of fire around them. This is a tradition from Hogmanay celebration in Scotland.<\/p>\n<p><b>Whispering of Animals \u2013 Romania<\/b><\/p>\n<p>You will be surprise to discover a ritual in Romania during the New Year, where the farmers try to hear what their animals are saying. On the New Year eve, the graveyard is opened and thousands of people gathers from various parts to the graveyard, lights candles and makes the dark go away with the charm of light. Every one puts on different type of furs in the bear costume with different colors. A full course dinner will be organized for a single person during the eve of New Year.<\/p>\n<p><b>Possum dropping \u2013 America<\/b><\/p>\n<p>This is the culture adopted by the town known as Brass town of North Carolina in America. According to the culture, the possum named given to the transparent box is dropped over the noisy crowd. This place is thus known as the possum capital in the world.<\/p>\n<p><b>Gold swimming \u2013 UK<\/b><\/p>\n<p>In United Kingdom, a swimming is organized on the New Year eve where the winners can get gold after the brave swim. The water to swim is icy cold. Winning over this icy cold water is also an achievement during the New Year. In the last year, 2000 people were successful in raising money in the charity swim competition.<\/p>\n<p><b>Grape Eating \u2013 Spain<\/b><\/p>\n<p>During the New Year, people staying in Spain have a custom of eating up as much as fresh grapes. People put on 2 \u2013 3 big grapes together in their mouth.
