In the way I noted several network switches that were terminated up in a drop-down type ceiling. The switches are stored bare. That is, there is no other box or enclosure for the switches. They are just out in the open in the ceiling. I have never before seen an instance where a network switch was terminated in the ceiling like that. Some switches were secured to the frame of the drop-down ceiling structure and some were simply lying on top of the ceiling tiles. All of the AC connections were plugged into what looked to be NEC compliant AC outlets. E.g. the AC lines were run through proper conduit with shielded outlets. My question is if it is OK per electrical code to have an AC powered network switch stored in the ceiling?<\/span>
