Motorola EX128

From the mobile manufacturing giants, Motorola comes the new Motorola EX128, a dual SIM & quad band phone with touchscreen. It is among the very first of the dual SIM phones to be launched by Motorola along with the EX115. With the launch of these phones, Motorola has made sure that it is not be left behind in the mobile phone race by the likes of Samsung, Nokia or LG. with these phones, Motorola too has joined the affordable lines of touchscreen phones, till now owned by the other three mobile behemoths.

Between the two phones from Motorola, it is the EX128 which emerges as the favorite of all. It has a front panel of 3.2 in WQVGA touchscreen with a resolution of 240 x 400.

Performance

The call quality of the phone is quite good, but some minor disturbances do crop up in far off and confined areas. Its wonderful design provides a great grip on the set, all thanks to its rubbery back. The touchscreen is much better than others in the same range. The interface is also quite good and simple.

The 3MP camera is quite good, and its video recording is much better than its counterpart. The display is fantastic, with images being sharp and clear. It also has credible sunlight legibility, better the likes of Nokia 5230 and Nokia 5030. Though the music player is good, the low volume of the speaker doesn’t augur well for it or even the bundled headphone. It might be better to use a good quality headphone instead. And the video player only supports the minimum available formats, thus leaving you with a lack of options.

Features

Motorola EX128 comes with an in-built memory of 50 MB to hold the contacts, SMS, MMS, ringtones and mails. The memory is expandable up to 32 GB supported via the standard microSD cards. It has facility of in-call recording enabling you to record your conversations for up to 7.5 hours with the option of hearing them later on. It is powered by the 910mAh Li-Ion battery lasts for a full day during normal usage.

Design

Equipped with a full touch resistive and TFT display of 3.2in of 240 x 400 resolutions (WQVGA), it has a sleek and stylish look which is quite superior to the other phones in the same range. Though it has a size of 107x57x12.8 mm, it weighs only a miserly 100g with the battery. It has three buttons in the front. The rear surface is scratch resistant, and comes with a cover for providing better grip. On its right side are buttons for power, locking/unlocking and volume adjustment. On the top are the audio jack and microUSB port.

The touch screen is quite bright with an excellent display. There are 3 homepages for adding your favorite application widgets and shortcuts.

Bottomline

You can have two working phone numbers with only one handset which increases your comfort factor when compared to carrying two handsets. Motorola EX128 has all the basic features that we look out from a mobile phone and a little bit more. The entertainment department of the phone is taken care of, as well as the social networking features. I recommend this phone to anyone and everyone who has to carry two phones all the time and would love their mobile to have a little style and class but at a very affordable price
