The must haves

There is a list of fashion statements that you must have if you are an ardent fashion follower. Peplum is the latest trend that is making waves and splashes across the fashion magazines and runways. There is no stopping peplum! Peplum can enhance simplest of silhouettes and add volume to that slim waist. Next in line, since this also happens to be winter, make sure you always carry a warm coat in nice shades of colours and stoles that complement most of the outfits in your wardrobe.

There is also stocking up on animal prints shoes that will add an edge to a solid colour dress when paired with bright coloured toe nails. Long sleeved dresses and blouses are in vogue this season. Go the sexy way with a lacy, beaded, sequined version of the full sleeve dress. Also up for grabs this season is lace. The feminism, grace and sensual appeal that lace seems to derive from women are immeasurable. When paired with suitable accessories this is one trend that can never go wrong.

White, nude, blacks, reds and metallic shades are the most trending colours this time of the year. Dresses that are reminiscent of fifties or strapless or backless or midriff revealing never did really go out from the fashion and could always be tried on for effortless chic. Feel free to experiment with fabrics, keeping your body shape in mind.

Add a little contrast when you decide to go monochrome as for an example, golden/silver/red accessories with a back dress.

A strict no- no

While dressing up for parties would inadvertently invite some bling onto the ensemble, don’t make yourself look like a disco light. There will be enough of those where you go. Make yourself stand out, in a good way with just the perfect balance of colour and bling.

Make sure you don’t make an over statement with the look. Know which item in your look to highlight- lips or eyes in the makeup and accessories or dress in the ensemble. All the statement making pieces together will look over board and nothing like the graceful look that you were hoping to achieve.

Have fun dressing up and experimenting this party season.
